The Pergamon Museum, Berlin
I visited the museum for the first
time, on a rainy day, during a break from business
meetings in April 2008. The Pergamon Museum is nowhere
near as big as the British Museum or the Louvre, but
contains such significant treasures as Babylon's Northern
"Ishtar" gate, and the temple at Pergamon from which the
museum takes its name. The building also houses the
Museum of Oriental and Islamic art, from which the
Sasanid bowl pictured below is taken.
The museum had a "no flash" policy,
so apologies if the pictures lack colour.
